Did you know, Chess Nation petitioned the City of St. Catharines to dedicate this park with its checkered table tops to our own retired book seller, community activist and chess fan, Hannelore Headley?

 

An active site for chess during the summer months, it is pictured here with children from the Bishop`s Keep Chess Studio on a day trip.  

 

This beautiful park with a marble water fountain is located  across from the Montebello Park Rose Garden in downtown St. Catharines.  

 

Chess sets are available from the UP House, seen in the photo for a small, refundable deposit.
